Entry requirements for Australia

Entry to Australia requires a visa or travel authorisation. Most visitors apply for an eVisitor (subclass 651) or Tourist Visa (subclass 600).

  • eVisitor (651): free, for passport holders from eligible European countries, stays up to 3 months
  • Tourist Visa (600): for most other nationalities, fee applies, stays up to 3-12 months
  • ETA (601): for eligible passport holders from select Asian and Pacific countries
  • Valid passport with at least 6 months validity beyond intended stay
  • Proof of sufficient funds for your visit
  • Genuine intent to visit temporarily as a tourist
  • Good health (medical exam may be required)
  • Good character (no serious criminal convictions)
